Matt King Bios

Without self-discipline, success is impossible. Those words are so important to Gobundance CEO Matt King that he had them tattooed on his rib cage. Those words are what will power Matt on theRide. More on that later.

Matt grew up in small-town Wisconsin, the son of really cool parents with incredibly high standards who urged him to make his own way in life. As a child, he wanted pizza. His mom handed him the phone book and told him to figure it out – including how to pay for it. As a teen, Matt wanted a motorcycle. His parents wouldn’t co-sign the loan. He figured that out, too, shocking his dad the afternoon the bike was delivered to their front lawn.

While still in high school, Matt went to work keeping the locker room tidy at the local country club. Overhearing the golfers’ conversations, he became obsessed with understanding how successful people thought, moved, built, and even more obsessed with becoming the kind of man who could lead others there, too.

Matt learned that serving others led to relationships in which he could receive insights from the people he befriended. He began volunteering at Gobundance events, sleeping on the floor at night and doing whatever needed to be done during the day. While serving the men of Gobundance, he was able to soak up the knowledge from conversations, speeches and panel discussions. The relationships he built led to a job in a family office.

What started as volunteering turned into visionary leadership. Today, Matt serves as CEO of Gobundance’s global tribe of high-performing men who are committed to building lives rich in wealth, health, relationships and purpose. He also leads DRO Investments, where he stewards strategic growth and generational legacy.

But the roles that define Matt most are husband, father, and steward of his family's legacy.

Matt lives with his wife, Melissa, and their three children on Singing Hill Ranch in Texas. The ranch is place for friends to become family, where ordinary moments are turned into extraordinary memories. They named it after the street Matt’s wife grew up on and the street where Matt proposed to her. It’s a living tribute to what they’ve built, and everything they’re still becoming.

One of the things Matt enjoys most about life is seeing others experience it fully. He believes in ROJ – Return on Joy – seeing the results of what he creates positively impacting the lives of others.

That’s what led him to create theRide. During the cross-country bike ride from Matamoros, Mexico, to Manitoba, Canada, he will stop in small towns across America and create joyful moments while meeting people who need a helping hand, giving them what they need to succeed. He’s raising a million dollars for this trip, all of which will be donated to people and organizations in overlooked communities that desperately need a leg up.

Because success isn’t about what you accumulate. It’s about who you become and who you bring with you.
