Jon Huber - Building Success with Grit, Connection, and Epic Adventures
Jon Huber’s story is one that feels deeply rooted in family, grit, and an unrelenting drive for both personal and professional growth. Coming from a real estate family in South Jersey, Jon’s journey was shaped early on by a single mother who juggled raising four children while forging a successful career in real estate. "My mom got her real estate license in 1984 and from then on, it was all about real estate in our house," Jon recalls. "Thanksgiving dinners were full of real estate conversations, and my mom was always quizzing me about commissions and tax-deferred exchanges."
Those early lessons from his mother, combined with the motivational tapes she played from the likes of Zig Ziglar and a young Tony Robbins, became the foundation for the investor Jon is today. “It’s like she was grooming me to be the investor I am,” he reflects. That early exposure sparked Jon’s career in real estate, but it was his grit and resilience that truly set him apart.
"Grit is Everything"
When asked what he believes has contributed to his success as a business leader, Jon doesn't mince words. “Grit—through and through,” he states. “You’re going to fail. You’re going to get punched in the mouth. The key is being able to get back up.” For Jon, success has never been about playing it safe. "Some of my best investments came from solving the hardest problems," he says. It’s the ability to push through adversity, learn from failure, and keep moving forward that has helped Jon thrive in both business and life.
Balancing Success and Family Life
Jon’s approach to balancing business and family life is just as deliberate as his career moves. “I work from home, so the lines are very blurred between family and business,” he admits. But he’s found his way to disconnect—travel. "Every chance we get, we're traveling as a family. It’s my way to fully disconnect, and it's become this beautiful balance of being fully involved when I'm home and fully present when I'm away."
Epic adventures aren’t just a way to unwind; they’ve become a critical part of his life philosophy. “It’s not just about making memories; it’s about shaping my kids’ mindsets,” Jon explains. One story stands out to him: "My daughter, who’s seven, was looking at an elephant and said, ‘Let’s go to Thailand to see them.’ That’s the mindset I want to instill—thinking globally and knowing what's possible.”
Finding His Tribe with Gobundance
Jon's journey took a transformative turn when he joined Gobundance, a mastermind group for high-performing men. He was first introduced to Gobundance through Tim Rhode, a co-founder of the group. "Tim was one of the most caring, giving, and successful people I'd ever met, and that’s what attracted me to Gobundance,” Jon shares. “It wasn't just about making money. It was about becoming a better person."
Since joining, Gobundance has had a profound impact on Jon’s life, both personally and professionally. "Before Gobundance, I never thought about things like getting my blood work done or tracking the time I spent with my wife and kids. But being in this group has made me a better father, a better husband, and a better businessman." Jon recalls making meaningful connections within the tribe that led to lucrative business deals, but he emphasizes that it was never about chasing money. “I focused on building relationships, and the deals followed.”
Excitement as a Regional Leader
As a regional leader for Gobundance, Jon finds himself in a unique position to help others grow. “I love watching people flourish,” he says. “I’ve seen people surpass me financially, and it makes me so happy. There's no competition; it’s about supporting each other.” He’s excited to see where new members will go on their journey and takes pride in knowing that he’s playing a role in their personal and professional growth.
The Future of Gobundance: A Personal Development Juggernaut
Looking ahead, Jon sees Gobundance evolving into more than just a network for high achievers. “I see Gobundance becoming a personal development juggernaut,” he says with conviction. And Jon plans to be at the forefront of this transformation. "I want the Southeast region to be the best because I take it personally when guys aren't giving 100 percent. I’m all about extreme accountability."
The Real Meaning of Success
For Jon, success goes far beyond financial gains. “We don’t care if you make a million dollars if your kids won’t talk to you,” he states emphatically. It’s this focus on holistic success—being a better husband, father, and person—that makes Gobundance the perfect fit for Jon and the many men who seek more than just wealth.
